Jeff Sipe Trio
Jeff Sipe, widely known as Apt. Q-258, is a drummer known for his rhythmical mastery. He has performed on stages throughout the world for over four decades. Born in Berlin, Germany, Sipe's percussive journey began at a young age, influenced by a diverse range of genres including jazz, rock, and fusion. Sipe's career highlights include his tenure as a founding member of the influential jam band Aquarium Rescue Unit alongside legends like Col. Bruce Hampton, Oteil Burbridge, and Jimmy Herring. His distinctive style, marked by impeccable timing, inventive fills, and dynamic range, has e arned him respect and admiration among peers and fans alike.
Throughout his impressive career, Sipe has collaborated with an array of renowned artists including Bela Fleck, Phil Lesh, and Trey Anastasio, showcasing his versatility and adaptability across various musical landscapes.
Mike Seal is a Grammy-nominated guitarist and composer now based in Nashville, TN. Originally from Bridgewater, Virginia, he's played out of Tennessee and Georgia for the past ten years, touring and recording with a wide variety of bands including: The Jerry Douglas Band, Sierra Hull, Bob Lanzetti, Jeff Sipe Trio, Sarah Siskind, The Jeff Coffin Mu-tet, Ike Stubblefield, Yonrico Scott, Keith L. Brown, Taylor Lee, The Black Lillies, and Robinella.
Taylor Lee, originally from Wilmington, NC, received a scholarship and attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music where he studied and performed with Lincoln Goins, Mark Whitfield, and Kim Plainfield. During his time at Berklee, Taylor also achieved the Outstanding Bassist Award handed to him by the entire bass faculty and was placed into Mark Whitfield’s scholarship ensemble in which Mark Whitfield Jr. was playing drums.
Together, the trio released its debut album sharing its namesake in 2014, an all-instrumental album highlighting the group’s range.
